Books are a great staple to use in decorating but sometimes it’s difficult and can be expensive, to find the look you are going for. An easy and inexpensive way to do this is to DIY your own book display. Use these on tables, shelves and even on benches nestled next to cozy comforters to get just the right balance your looking for. Here’s a few ideas to get you started designing your own fabulous book collection on a budget!!

Wrap your books in kraft paper and/or linen fabric.

Use bright wrapping paper to give a color pop to a shelf.

Remove covers and wrap in twine to achieve a farmhouse feel.

Go glam by spray painting books with metallic gold.

Hand stamp the pages to personalize your collection

Which of these DIY projects gives you inspiration?

Ha Ha….. if you are an email follower you saw the post that went out by mistake yesterday and we must say it was quite funny and a little embarrassing!!!   If you haven’t subscribed by email yet, you must do this now as we are known to do goofy things from time to time and that was one of them!!  Lots of laughs….  Anyway…. on to the post!!!

When buying new accessories it’s always nice to buy things that are versatile, and pretty.  Today, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite versatile vases and how you can mix them up depending on the season or area of the house you are featuring them in.  Vases are usually pretty inexpensive ways to dress up tables, bookshelves or really anywhere you find an empty spot in your house that needs a little color.  Check out some of these finds and see which versatile vases you need in your home!

One of our favorite home trends is the black and white combination of colors. Whether you’re looking to work this inside or out this color duo is sure to make a statement. Which of these looks is your favorite?

When we stage a home we often talk about de-personalizing the space so the potential buyers can visualize their families in that home.  However, there is one exception to this rule when it comes to decorating we LOVE to use local items.  For example many of you probably have seen the personalized pillows with area codes, zip codes or cities printed on them.  Items such as these are super cute and can really give the potential buyer a connection with the home and the area the home is located in.  There are so many fun and different ways we decorate using local items whether your listing your house or just wanting to represent your area you don’t want to miss out on these must haves.  Here are some of our favorites we came across and where you can find them so you can have some local flair in your home!
